Ideas to Make Your Home ENERGY Efficient

Saving ENERGY is everybody's responsibility.   And it's not hard.  Are you looking for some ideas to save energy, or maybe  some ideas to save a little $$$ on your energy bill?  Well, you're in the right place.

Here are some tips for you:

1. Beware of phantom energy.   Unplug your electronic appliances and devices when not in use.

2. Don’t put hot food in the fridge.  Cooling it down in the fridge wastes energy.

3. Remember to turn the lights off when you leave the room.   It's easy.   Just make it a habit.

4. Ask yourself, do I really need the lights on?   Maybe you can use daylight from the windows instead.

5. Turn down the heat at night.  You’re fast asleep under the covers, so you don’t need it.

6. Turn down the heat or air conditioning whenever you leave the house.   You don’t need it when no one’s home.

7. When you put your clothing in the washer, use cold water instead of hot water to save energy.   Similarly, take short showers instead of baths.  Less hot water = less energy.

8.  Don’t use the washer or the dishwasher unless you’ve got a full load.

9.   Have you changed your lightbulbs lately?  The new LED lights use a lot less electricity.   Get some soon.

10.  If you go shopping for electronics or refrigerators or other appliances, consider buying energy efficient models.
